New Holland TD5

Coolant capacity & service interval

New Holland TD5 coolant capacity ranges from 11 to 16 liters. Service intervals include checks at 10 hours and changes at 1200 hours/24 months or 3600 hours. The data covers 10 configurations.

The configuration chart below lists fill volumes and service intervals for each engine and trim variant.

Additional Notes

  • Across the New Holland TD5 range, cooling system capacity is listed in two figures per variant: a base capacity and a higher figure that applies when a cab heater circuit is included. The addition of a cabin heating circuit adds 2 liters to the total coolant volume in all listed configurations.
  • The TD5.65 and TD5.75 (2012-2015) share the smallest cooling system capacities in the range, at 11 liters base and 13 liters with cabin. The TD5.85 (2012-2015) sits between these and the larger variants, at 12 liters base and 14 liters with cabin.
  • The TD5.85 from 2020 onward shows an increase in base cooling system capacity to 14 liters, up from 12 liters in the 2012-2015 specification. The cabin-equipped figure rises correspondingly from 14 to 16 liters.
  • All 2012-2015 variants across the TD5 range share a coolant check interval of every 10 hours. In agricultural equipment, a 10-hour check interval typically aligns with daily or near-daily inspection routines during active use seasons.
  • The coolant change interval for all 2012-2015 TD5 variants is specified as 1200 hours or 24 months, whichever comes first. The dual-condition format means a time-based limit applies even when the hourly threshold has not been reached, which is relevant for lower-utilization machines.
  • From 2020 onward, the TD5.85, TD5.95, TD5.105, and TD5.115 all carry a coolant change interval of 3600 hours, with no accompanying time-based interval listed. This represents a threefold increase over the 1200-hour interval specified for the equivalent 2012-2015 variants, consistent with the use of extended-life coolant formulations in later engine generations.
  • The 2020-onward variants do not list a periodic check interval in the specifications, whereas all 2012-2015 variants include the 10-hour check requirement. The absence of a listed check interval in the later configurations is a structural difference in how the service schedules are presented.
