A larger cooling system capacity generally reflects a greater total volume of coolant circulating through the engine block, cylinder head, and associated components.
  • The 1.0 T-GDI non-hybrid capacity of 6.37 litres is notably higher than the 48V-Hybrid version of the same engine, which holds only 4.5 litres. The mild-hybrid system integrates additional electrical components that alter the thermal management architecture, which accounts for the difference in total cooling circuit volume.
  • Under normal use conditions, all engine variants in the i20 BC3 range share a coolant change interval of 30,000 km or 24 months, whichever comes first. Normal use in this context refers to standard operating conditions as opposed to extended or first-fill intervals.
