Honda FES

Coolant capacity & service interval

Honda FES coolant capacity ranges from 0,26 to 1,4 liters. Service intervals include checks at 8000 to 12000 km or 12 months and changes at 24 to 36000 km or 24 months. The data covers 5 configurations.

The configuration chart below lists fill volumes and service intervals for each engine and trim variant.

Additional Notes

  • The Honda FES 125 Pantheon (1998-2003) cooling system holds 1 liter total, while the revised 2003-2007 generation separates capacity into two figures: 0.95 liter for the radiator and engine circuit combined, and 0.26 liter for the reserve tank. The reserve tank figure represents the overflow or expansion reservoir, which is a separate volume from the primary circuit.
  • From the 2003-2007 Pantheon onward, the primary circuit capacity dropped slightly from 1 liter to 0.95 liter, a value carried forward unchanged into both the FES 125/A and FES 150/A S-Wing variants produced from 2007 onward.
  • The FES 250 Foresight (1998-2000) carries a notably larger cooling system capacity of 1.4 liters, consistent with the greater displacement and thermal load of a 250 cc engine compared to the 125 cc variants.
  • Coolant change intervals differ between the smaller and larger displacement models. The 125 cc Pantheon variants specify a 24-month change interval, while the FES 250 Foresight extends the change interval to 36,000 km or 24 months, whichever comes first, adding a distance-based threshold absent from the 125 cc specifications.
  • The FES 250 Foresight also carries a more demanding check interval of 12,000 km or 12 months, compared to the 8,000 km or 12 months specified for the 1998-2003 and 2003-2007 Pantheon models. The S-Wing variants from 2007 onward list no separate check interval, only the 24-month change schedule.
  • All coolant specifications across the FES range are listed under normal use conditions, meaning the intervals apply to standard operating environments without the shortened schedules typically associated with severe or demanding use classifications.
