Hydraulic brake systems use this range-based approach because fluid level naturally drops slightly as brake pads wear.
  • Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time through a process called hygroscopic absorption, which lowers its boiling point and reduces braking performance. A time-based change interval, independent of mileage, reflects this degradation mechanism.
