All other configurations across both the 151 and 258 engines specify a longer 48,000 km or 30-month change interval, making the 1980 258 the only entry with a shorter normal-use drain cycle.
  • The 1981-1983 model years for both the 151 and 258 engines share identical differential service intervals: a fluid check every 8,000 km or 5 months, and a fluid change every 48,000 km or 30 months. No use-condition variants are listed for those years, meaning a single interval applies regardless of driving demands.
  • Starting with the 1984-1985 model years, a frequent trailer towing condition is introduced for both the 151 and 258 engines. Under that condition, the check and change intervals remain identical to the normal-use figures for those years, at 8,000 km or 5 months for checks and 48,000 km or 30 months for changes.
