  • Across the Holder A series, cooling system capacities fall into two groups: 9 liters for most variants and 6 liters for the A 60 (1979-1990). A 6-liter figure is notably lower and reflects a smaller total coolant volume circulating through the engine block, cylinder head, and radiator combined.
  • The Holder A 60 stands apart from all other listed variants with a 9-liter capacity in the turbocharged A 60 Turbo (1983-1986) versus the 6-liter capacity of the naturally aspirated A 60. Turbocharged engines typically generate more heat, which often corresponds to an expanded cooling circuit to manage thermal load.
  • The A 40 (1980-1987), A 50 (1979-1990), A 50 Turbo (1983-1990), A 60 Turbo (1983-1986), and the naturally aspirated A 60 all share a 12-month coolant change interval under normal use conditions.
  • The A 62 (1986-1990) and A 65 (1986-1990) both carry a 24-month change interval under normal use conditions, which is twice the interval specified for the earlier and contemporaneous variants.
