Claas Elios

Differential fluid capacity & service interval

Claas Elios differential fluid capacity ranges from 4 to 5,5 liters. The service interval requires a change every 1000 hours. The data covers 7 configurations.

The configuration chart below lists fill volumes and service intervals for each engine and trim variant.

Additional Notes

  • Across all Claas Elios 210, 220, 230, and 240 variants, the front differential fluid capacity splits into two values based on the tractor's speed configuration: 4 liters for the 30 km/h version and 5.5 liters for the 40 km/h version. The higher-speed gearbox assembly requires a larger fluid volume to lubricate the additional mechanical components needed to achieve the greater top speed.
  • The 1.5-liter difference between the 30 km/h and 40 km/h front differential capacities is consistent across every model in the Elios range covered by these specifications, from the 210 through to the 240.
  • The front differential fluid change interval is set at 1,000 hours under normal use conditions for all listed Elios variants. In agricultural equipment, a 1,000-hour interval is a standard benchmark tied to seasonal or annual usage patterns rather than calendar time.
  • The Elios range covered here spans two distinct emission tier generations. The Tier 3 series, identified by the A 28 series code starting from serial number A2800001, covers the 2010-2014 production period. The Stage 3b / Tier 4i series, identified by the A 48 series code starting from serial number A4800002, covers 2014-2020.
  • Despite the transition from Tier 3 to Stage 3b / Tier 4i emission standards, the front differential fluid capacity and change interval remain identical across both generations for each model. The engine emission tier did not alter the front axle differential specifications.
  • The serial number prefixes serve as a precise production boundary marker. The A 28 and A 48 codes allow identification of the correct specification set when a model year alone may be ambiguous, particularly around the 2014 transition point where both generations overlap.
  • The Elios 240 is listed only in the Stage 3b / Tier 4i A 48 generation within these specifications, with a production start from 2014, whereas the 210, 220, and 230 models each appear in both the Tier 3 and Stage 3b / Tier 4i generations.
